B070 Feedthroughs - Feedthroughs for screened cables
The B070 feedthrough consists of a nickel-plated, stainless
steel body with a lock nut & ‘O’ ring seal, onto the rear of
which is a pre-soldered heat shrinkable SolderShield device.
It is used for the grounding of small and large diameter
screened cables and replaces a wide range of products such
as welded spigots, hand soldered hose clips and
compression fittings.
Installation is simply effected by removing the cable jacket
and positioning the feedthrough over the cable braid. When
heat from a hot air gun is applied to the SolderShield device
it shrinks and solders the cable braid through 360° to the
feedthrough body. When used in conjunction with a
moulded part which is pre-coated with adhesive, it provides
a highly reliable, strain relieved, water resistant connection.
The completed feedthrough assembly can then be attached
to a bulkhead by tightening the lock nut, which compresses
the ‘O’ ring seal and ensures that the double knife edge
gives good electrical contact between the feedthrough
assembly and bulkhead.
Note: A back nut and moulded part are available where a
double-sided entry is required.
Features & Benefits
- Total 360° electrical shielding
- EMP/EMI proof
- Strain relieved, environmentally sealed
- Inspectable terminations
- Wide cable size coverage (2.5mm to 29.0mm)
- Pressure seal to 50 psi
- Low installed cost
Applications
The B070 feedthrough devices are designed to provide a
high reliability water resistant connection for a shielded or
coaxial cable passing through a bulkhead or into equipment,
when used with the adhesive lined moulded part and
adhesive.
